Painting, Soul Work, and Freedom: Inquiry and Action

This is an online option for people that, in the time of Covid or, in general, prefer not to travel for a retreat. In this online format, we will meet weekly for 1 month, renewable monthly.

During our Zoom time together, we will begin with checking in and awareness practice.

The goal of doing this is to foster presence, become aware of felt states in your body, and to wipe the slate of your mind in order to begin painting.

Painting is a practice, like any other. Our attitude will be one of experimentation, loosening up, letting go, and fearless play. I encourage you to paint the ways you want to paint, observing you paint and making suggestions and offering guidance.

If you feel stuck in any way, if you have a harsh inner critic, or if you’ve always wanted to paint but need support and guidance, our time together will enrich your insights and deepen your creative awareness.

Friday time slots available for one- or two-hour sessions.

$85 an hour

Women’s Spiritual Hungers: Embracing the Feminine

Are you hungry to express yourself and explore your spiritual needs? Is your relationship with food and eating a challenge?

Might you use food to replace what might be a hunger of your soul? Even if you don’t struggle with food per se, we will explore issues important to all women such as: sacred sexuality, the gifts of our bodies, what my soul is really hungry for, what my creative needs are.

Through discussions, writing, and art-making, we will dive into the deep reservoir of personal connection together.

Artists and non artists are welcome to attend.

Creative Consulting

If you need support to either start a studio practice, or to stay consistent with the one you have, I will accompany you in reaching your goals. Sometimes, we all need another set of eyes to reflect upon what we are doing.

When it is safe to travel again, please consider joining me in my home studio in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. In this custom-designed artist retreat, we'll discuss moving forward in your art practice, use of materials, and potential new directions.

Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.

It was an amazing journey of love, respect, and truths told. What an honor it was to be part of the retreat. Nina, thank you for your undivided attention, safety, and openness you created for me. I am truly grateful. J.S.
